The search for a family in India

Heya!

Just wondering if anyone knows of a nice host family in India. Ive set my heart on au-pairing there but its proving rather tricky to find a family... Sarah xx

Hi Sarah, I am not sure if you can find a family in India. Au-pairs are usually people from 'not so rich countries' that go to work to 'rich' countries - not everybody can afford an au-pair and India is an extremely poor country. But don't give up, maybe a nice family appears, I would recommend you to look here: http://www.greataupair.com and http://www.aupair-world.net
If you don't find anything, you can also try to find another part time job (but I really have no idea how I would do that).

I believe a lot are hands-on mothers in India, seldom do they need au pairs. If your heart is set to venture the country, a job on tech and medical is needed although the pay would not be really challenging.
